After several design loops, the design process for the MAGICA antenna is almost finished at Nextium by Idneo. This process includes design/concept definition, simulation, prototyping and validation. The joint effort of the mechanics, purchasing and sales department together with the engineering design team, guarantees an antenna that complies with the technical requirements but also fits the cost and manufacturability constraints.
After the design simulation stage using 3D electromagnetic simulator and electronic circuit solvers, the prototype phase started. For the prototype adjustments and performance characterization, a multi-probe system in a fully anechoic chamber has been used. The antenna has been tested in free space condition and also integrated in the spoiler environment.
Next steps are testing the antenna performance with the RF test laboratory environment developed and available at ROHDE & SCHWARZ and once integrated in the spoiler of the SEAT S.A. vehicle.
